This five-day experience, "Exploring the Restorative Practices Continuum," will offer a journey from basic philosophy to in-depth preparation in implementing restorative approaches.

This interdisciplinary conference will provide an international perspective on restorative practices theory and practice in a variety of settings, including education, social welfare, criminal justice, community development and workplaces.

Learn how to facilitate restorative conferences — structured meetings that bring together everyone affected by an incident of wrongdoing or conflict to discuss how they have been affected and decide how to repair the harm.

Learn how to be a restorative supervisor, increase employees’ engagement in their work and build a positive, productive community among staff members.

Learn how to facilitate Family Group Decision Making (FGDM) conferences, which bring together extended families, friends and professionals — in school, youth justice, and children and youth settings — to make a plan and develop solutions to deal with a wide variety of issues.

Break the cycle of bullying. Understand the unique dynamics of this chronic, troublesome behavior and learn how to respond effectively and consistently, using proven restorative practices.

Counselors and other educators will learn the specialized skills — different from standard educational practices — needed to run support, treatment and aftercare groups with students, as well as the fundamentals of group development and group dynamics.

The IIRP conducts a three-day Training of Trainers (TOT) to teach experienced practitioners how to facilitate the "Introduction to Restorative Practices" and "Using Circles Effectively" trainings. Once trained, participants will be certified to provide these trainings for approved IIRP licensees. Trainers must be affiliated with a licensee to provide trainings in their district, organization or area.
